Miss Indy had her first vet visit today and we learned a few things about her. She is 18-24 months old, older than we originally thought. She weighed in at 68 pounds and was sweet and wonderful all the way through her vet visit and with everyone she met. She is crate trained, housebroken, microchipped, vetted and sweeter than a glass of sweet tea on a hot day! She only wants to love and be loved, hang out with her human and will be your shadow no matter where you go. She gets along with everyone in rescue and loves to play, the size of the dog does not phase her in the least.
Every once in a while a situation arises that requires us to bend the rules a little and take an "Honorary Giant" into rescue. That is the case with this little girl. An employee of a board member was visiting family in a rural part of North Florida and found three pups in a ditch, obviously dumped there. They were there for a couple of days, during which time the employee and his wife provided food and water. Two of the three disappeared but this little girl stayed, as if waiting for the owner to return. Knowing they would be returning home they could not leave her to fend for herself and brought her home with them. They have named her Indy - found on Independence weekend.
Looking forward to being part of your family :)
