One look at the scars on this girl's face and you know life has been ruff for her. Maggie is a survivor of the dog fighting industry, used as a bait dog and discarded, she has been through the shelter, adopted and now in rescue when her owner could no longer care for her. Maggie was brought in to a vet that works with the rescue and they asked us to take her on because she deserves a chance. This is what the technicians at the vet wrote up for her: Given her experience you can understand that she is dog selective and would love to be your only snuggle buddy. We do not know how she is with cats.
"Hi, my name is Maggie. I am a 5 year old, fawn American Pit bull Terrier mix. I came to stay here at the animal hospital about the middle of September because my owner could no longer care for me. I am a very sweet and playful girl, but I do need a firm voice and strong grip. I am learning to walk much better on a leash. I could definitely benefit from some structured training. I love to play with toys and run in the yard."
