Maxwell is recovering in a wonderful foster home from his horrific treatment. By all accounts he is sweet, kind and loving despite his abuse. He walks nicely on a leash and has decided his fosters young teen granddaughter is just wonderful. He is decompressing, eating well and will be vetted shortly. This boy deserves a home with people that will love, care for and advocate for him.

Many, many of you saw the post for Max, the young Dane living in deplorable conditions following is a portion of the original post: (the way I know that is I was tagged in no less than a dozen different posts) "Last Sunday a friend called me about a male Great Dane that was in horrible shape. The grounds was like a dump. This poor boy(Max) is about 1 1/2 - 2yrs old. When we arrived we were horrified at Max’s condition as you can see in pictures. This poor boy was living in a horse stall and sleeping on hay ? In this horrible Florida heat. A friend took Max in but unfortunately can not keep him any longer. Not due to this sweet boy fault. Max stays in their home while they are at work and has never had an accident in the 4 days that he was there. He walks perfect on a leash and the most lovable goofy Dane. He knows commands and loves children. He gets along with small and big dogs. " We couldn't let him be euthanized so with the help of one of our dedicated fosters that almost always steps up to help dogs like Maxwell, Max is now part of the Florida Giant Dog Rescue, Inc. family. He is resting comfortably in a private home and will see the vet as soon as it is possible. In the meantime he is being loved, cared for and fed.
