Romulus and Minerva just joined FLGDR this Saturday, because a breeder used them up and threw them out. They are the kindest, sweetest, most attention seeking Danes we've met and by far the least deserving of the neglect and abuse they've suffered. Both are seriously vision impaired caused by untreated entropy. All four eyeballs are damaged beyond repair. Both dogs are malnourished and had not been vetted until rescued. They were both altered and he had masses removed earlier this month before being transferred to our care. As neglected and used as the two were, they still seek human touch and affection. It's clear that they've never lived in a home. They do not care to be crated, but tolerate it. They're both incredibly food motivated (no surprise there), and neither one can be considered house broken at this time. They're at our vet now and we'll update soon regarding a wellness plan for them. We expect both will require entropian surgery to stop any future damage to their eyes. She may have some masses removed. They are both heartworm positive and we've started them on slow kill. They will require long term, expensive care and we are going to provide them with everything they need to make the balance of their lives as happy and pain free as possible. Won't you consider helping out with their care? Florida Giant Dog Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit rescue. It is truly all about the dogs. Romulus and Minerva thank you, as do we.
Coming Soon!
Looking forward to being part of your family :)
